I don't love servicing my car but Modesti's Car Center makes it easy. The shuttle is a great touch. Glad I found this place.

Besides being local to work, they're always welcoming, prompt, and suggest what keeps my car running. And they know me by name, you don't get better than that.

I already wrote a review. Did you get it? Gladys Barnett

I've been having my car serviced at Modesti's since the late 80's and have never had reason to go anywhere else. Simply the best.

You make the, frequently painful, act of having my car maintained and repaired, a pleasant experience. Your expertise, your comfortable waiting area, transport from and to, even your serene little restroom, make me entirely comfortable recommending you to my friends and associates. Gladys Barnett (2002 Kia)

I love Modesti's. I bought a used car, and had been taking it to a place much farther away at the recommendation of my uncle. Well, the car kept having problems, and it eventually broke down and was smoking from the hood. My husband was at work, and I don't know anything about cars, so I was kind of freaking out. I needed to get it towed somewhere, so I went on the AAA website. I didn't even check reviews, but something told me to call them, so I did. I don't even know who it was that I talked to on the phone, but he was so incredibly nice. He calmed me and down and told me it would be fine if I had the car towed to them, even if I couldn't accompany it. It was my husband who ended up going later to take care of the car, and he was impressed at how great they were there. Told me I had made the right call!I have a new car now, and both my husband and I take our cars here for everything, and we constantly recommend it to others. Everybody who works here is incredibly nice, they always remember us and ask us about how things are going, and it is obvious that our cars are in good hands. They are flexible with when we drop it off and pick it up if we have to work around my husband's work schedule. If you have to stay there to wait for your car, they have a nice little area to wait in with magazines and a coffee maker, which is great. We always feel truly cared about at Modesti's, which is especially important for me, as a woman, to know that I am not being taken advantage of because I don't know anything about cars. They care about their customers and always want them to be happy and satisfied. They take their time to explain things to you and answer all of your questions. I would highly recommend this place to anybody. If you want your cars to be in good hands, take it here!

These guys are great. I've taken my aging Subaru Outback to them several times and like the fact that I never feel like I'm being pressured/upsold to get more work done than is necessary. Unpleasant and expensive surprises from repair shops are pretty standard stuff but I haven't experienced any of these with Modesti's. Everyone I've dealt with there -- the front desk guys, the shuttle driver -- is friendly and helpful, and they do quality work. Highly recommended, check 'em out.

I have been a customer of Modesti's Independent Auto Repair in Culver City, CA for a little over a year. I found them on Angie's List and have always been impressed with their honesty, integrity and very fair prices. Because I was going to give my gently used MINI Cooper to my son (who is going out of state to school) I thought it would be a good idea to go to a dealership (dumb idea), have them do a diagnostic and then take my car to Modesti's to get the recommended repairs. I made the mistake of going to a MINI dealer in Los Angeles (I've never been there before) and dropped my car off early in the morning. I was told that the diagnostic would cost $389 (a lot of money...but that it would be applied to any repairs done to my car). I did not receive a call late that afternoon--as I was told--so I called them. I was told that there were problems with my car and that my "service" rep was trying to get MINI to pay for a portion of the costs. This was a shock because I've really taken great care of my MINI. My "service" rep promised to call me the next day. In the afternoon of the following day I hadn't heard anything--so I called and was told that I needed:1.) new clutch and possibly flywheel=$3900 for the "clutch assembly"2.) the oil pan was leaking; 3.) the cylinder head and gasket were leaking=$37004.) I needed coolant 5.) may need to machine the cylinder heads (I have no idea what that would have cost)6.) an alignment7.) 2 new front tires Total cost...I have no idea because I was only given a "guestimate" on the "clutch work" and work on the "leaky cylinder head gasket" Totaling $7600 for now.The other things that he told me about on the phone would be extra. My husband was ready to sell my beloved MINI and buy another car for my son.I called Danny at Modesti's and told him what was going on, and he explained a variety of things to me about how the tests were conducted and gave me some questions to ask dealer about the tests that were done on my car. When I spoke to my "service" rep at the MINI dealer about the oil leak and head gasket "repair", I was told that they did a test, which turned the green fluid blue which indicated there was a "major leak". I told the rep that I didn't have any oil on my garage floor, but that didn't seem to matter to him. I told the rep that I wasn't putting that kind of money (ultimately in excess of $8,000) into my car. I asked him what $389 (the cost of the diagnostic) would buy me and he told me "Nothing". I said, "You told me yesterday, that the cost of the diagnostic would be applied to work done". He told me that it would only be for the clutch work or the oil leak issue--the major items. I didn't even get a crummy quart of oil. The following morning I picked up my car and immediately took it over to Modesti's to have them repeat the tests and to do whatever my car needed. Danny--God Bless him--called me promptly that afternoon and told me that that he had "good news". I didn't need a clutch, nor did I need a cylinder head gasket or anything major. I needed a service, windshield wipers, some fluids and a light bulb. Everything totaled to approximately $600. I thought that Modesti's was great before, but now??? Wow!! I can't explain how happy I am with Modesti's, Danny (my awesome service rep) the mechanics and everyone associated with this wonderful company. They gave me the ability to give my son a safe car, keep my MINI in the family and save me over $8,000. If you want efficient, honest service from people who care about what they do...forget the dealers and go to Modesti's Auto Repair--they're the best!!Thanks Guys!!

I have found the one and only auto shop that I will go to for the rest of my life!!! They are honest, informative, and pleasant. From the time you drive in and drive off, you feel taken care of. Heck, they make spending a couple hundred dollars enjoyable. They're not like your dad's auto shops, they have the latest equipment and diagnostic equipment and do an amazing job. It's awesome that they also provide shuttle service back and forth in the area. All in all, the most amazing auto shop EVER!!!!
